• Lough Gur Heritage Centre, Co. Limerick: Nestled safely in the hills of Knockfennel and Knockadoon, this is an incredibly quiet, naturally dark spot. It also holds deep astronomical history, as it's home to the Grange Stone Circle (built in 5500 BC).

• Sheep's Head Peninsula, West Cork: A much less-crowded alternative to the nearby Ring of Kerry. Its remote, southwesterly position guarantees incredibly dark night skies.

Northern Ireland:

• Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge Car Park, Co. Antrim: While heavily visited by day, the car park has Dark Sky Discovery status and remains freely accessible 24 hours a day, offering one of the darkest skies on the north coast.

• Beaghmore Stone Circles, Co. Tyrone: Located in a remote area near the Sperrin Mountains, these ancient stone circles add a dramatic historical element to stargazing sessions.
